The 1/2" leveling spacers are handy for KJ owners who will be either towing a trailer, carrying a lot of extra weight in the cargo area, or just want to keep the stock raked look of the KJ (the lift kits we offer level out the look of the KJ). We highly recommend if you are going to do a lot of towing or if you will regularly carry over 500lbs of added cargo weight in the rear cargo area that you also purchase the 1/2" rear spacers.

The CRD Frankenlift II BAJA is our newest addition to the Frankenlift family and it has all of the same quality parts as the Premium kit with a simple rear shock change - it comes with Doetsch Tech BAJA Rider Rear Long Travel Shocks. Doetsch Tech recently designed and valved this shock specifially for the Frankenlift II kit and gave us another option for our valued customers! The BAJA shock is NOT a budget shock - we get better pricing on this shock and so we can pass the savings along to YOU.

Both the Premium and BAJA Frankenlift come with OME struts. They are HEAVY DUTY and are VALVED correctly for the KJ Liberty, which greatly helps control the bounce-back in those heavy CRDs! If you are going to put an ARB bumper or any other heavy bumper on your CRD, you definitely want to go with this lift. If you don't have a heavy bumper, don't worry...this lift is certainly for your CRD too!

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FRANKENLIFT II PREMIUM AND THE BAJA:

1) The Baja Struts are a gloss black powder coat and the OME struts are yellow. The Baja shocks are a gloss white powder coat and the OME shocks are yellow.

2) The Baja version is so new that we don't have feedback from our product testers and customers on lifespan for the shocks/struts yet. We are being told by the manufacturer they have a lifespan of 50,000 - 70,000 miles. All other Doetsch Tech shocks/struts that we have used/sold have had a nice long lifespan, so we are hoping these struts/shocks will also go beyond 70,000 miles, but since we can't verify that yet, we are going with the manufacturers numbers.

3) According to our product testers, the Baja version has GREAT on-road manners and the handling of the KJ is greatly improved over stock. Product testers are stating the Baja version rides firmer than the OME version, going over bumps and dips is greatly controled in bounce back. The Premium version (OME version) also has a lot of feedback from customers that the on-road handling is greatly improved over stock and that the ride is firmer than stock and bounce back is very controled.

SUMMARY: Both versions of the Frankenlift are great kits - you can expect very close to the same ride quality, lifespan, and use from either version. They are also both 2.5" lifts. So...it almost comes down to which color do you prefer? Yellow or Black struts, and Yellow or White shocks? Look for a review on our FACEBOOK page by one of our product testers.
